UPDATE:
EMERGENCY! Gilbert, Arizona Duck Rescue
DESPERATE FOR FOOD & MONETARY DONATIONS IN ORDER TO SURVIVE!

On behalf of Tammy Vrettos of Webfoot ResQ, we are sending out a plea for help. Some of you may remember the recent passing of fellow rescuer Dell Gillispie, Tammy's partner. His untimely death left her with the task for caring for over 300 birds, 75 cats and several dogs. Dell passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack on September 13. He was an integral part of Webfoot ResQ, caring not only for the animals, but also for Tammy in her failing health so she could continue her mission. Tammy is now facing an extreme difficulty. She's running out of food for the animals in her care and in foster care. She has no working heater and is facing the possibility that she may lose her house and the rescue leaving all the animals without a home. Please, please, please, if you cannot help her, pass this on to others who can. Thank you, Hearts to the Rescue.  Please donate through this ChipIn link: http://webfootrescue.chipin.com/needs-food-to-survive

Tammy Vrettos, who created Webfoot ResQ in 1998, has given selflessly of her time and limited resources from the day she rescued her first duck nearly 14 years ago. Despite physical challenges and shoestring finances, she and her partner, Dell Gillispie, continued day by day, hour by hour in their quest to rescue, rehab, and rehome waterfowl left to fend for themselves once their novelty faded after Easter, as well as to educate the public as to the fate of these deserving fowl.

“Our primary objective is to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home injured, orphaned, and discarded domestic ducks and geese from public and private waterways. We provide a secure and caring refuge, as well as medical attention, for more than 700 ducks and geese a year, until suitable permanent outlets can be located through our vigorous adoption program. Ultimately we aim to eliminate the vicious cycle of waterfowl abandonment through education and legislation.”

Dell passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack on September 13, leaving behind many furry and feathered family members. He was an integral part ofWebfoot ResQ, caring not only for the ducks and geese, but also for Tammy in her failing health so she could continue her mission.

“Will miss you my friend... I owe you so much. You rescued me too.” – tv

***Many cats, ducks, geese, chickens and turkeys are in immediate need of temporary or permanent housing. Assistance is also needed for caretaking and transporting animals. We are especially desperate for food donations and help with vet expenses. Please respond if you can offer any assistance. Dell also left a disabled family member behind who was dependent upon him, so the situation is very desperate and funds and help are needed. No money was left to even cover cremation or funeral costs for this individual who sacrificed everything to help these animals and so many others. Please help someone who has helped so many others.
